Shone Farm, Santa Rosa Junior College’s 365-acre student farm in Forestville, is accepting members for its fall season CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) produce box program. But don’t delay: today (Aug. 20) is the deadline to sign up.
Subscribing to a box provides a family or 2 or 3 adults with heirloom tomatoes, lettuces, strawberries and apples – roughly 6 to 8 different vegetables and fruits each week – that were harvested by SRJC students on the morning of delivery. You can also receive pastured eggs for an extra fee, and a loaf of fresh bread, at no additional cost.
The cost for the Fall CSA is $384 for 16 weeks, or just $24 a week. Your box can be picked up at the SRJC campuses in Santa Rosa or Petaluma, at The Wineyard at 1305 Cleveland Ave., or at the farm outside of Forestville. For a signup form, go to shonefarm.com, or call 887-2458.
